Dr. Roger Baker
Dr. Baker grew up in Wichita, Kansas. As a child he spent a lot of his time on the golf course. This passion led him to pursue a career as a professional golfer. When he realized he could not make a putt past 3 feet, he was forced to seek another passion. Because of this, Dr. Baker decided to pursue a career in dentistry. Once he set his golf clubs aside, he returned to the University of Nebraska. Dr. Baker graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical School, College of Dentistry in May 1980. Upon graduating he established a general dental practice in Enid, Oklahoma. Dr. Baker later opened a satellite office in Tulsa, which was also a general dental practice.
In 1992, he attended a meeting for the American Academy of Head, Neck and Facial Pain(Opens in a new window), and he became more interested in temporomandibular dysfunctions. With this interest, Dr. Baker changed his practice from general dentistry to a referral-based pain and dysfunction practice.
In 1998, Dr. Baker opened an office in Wichita, Kansas, limiting it to the treatment of temporomandibular dysfunctions and orofacial pain. He opened his second office in 2001 at Southcrest Medical Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
